BELIEFS AND OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES
THE PURPOSE OF WON 4 CHRIST MINISTRIES
To inspire people to develop a heart for God, and to include them in a
church family where they can be instructed, and then involved in a ministry that is
fundamental in doctrine, and determined to aggressively impact the world with the
Gospel of Christ.
I John 3:18: My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in
deed and in truth.
I Corinthians 15:58: Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable,
always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as ye know that your
labour is not in vain in the Lord.
John 13:34-35: A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another;
as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that
ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Matthew 25:35,36,40: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty,
and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed
me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as
ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto
me.
Hebrews 13:2: Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have
entertained angels unawares.
Kjv
WE EXIST TO:
Please the Lord in all we do.
Jesus is our example, for in John 8:29, He said “I do always those things
that please him.”
Reach People for Christ.
John 15:16 “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained
you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit”
Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after the Holy Spirit is come upon
you; and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in
Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
Obey the Word of God.
2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”
Influence as many people for Christ as possible.
Philippians 1:20-21 “So now also Christ shall be magnified in my body,
whether it be by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”
Stick with our founding principles of Belief.
As Christians we believe,
That the Bible is our final authority in faith and practice.
That separated Christian living is a Scriptural command.
That the local church is its own authority under God's word.
That salvation is by grace alone.
That every believer “can have” eternal security of their salvation.
That our Lord Jesus Christ, was Gods only son,
And that He came to earth born of a virgin by the Holy Spirit.
- We believe Jesus died on the cross for our sins and transgressions and that
He physically resurrected from the dead on the third day, and that this is
Necessary for salvation as stated in (Romans 10:9-10).
- We believe in Repentance from sin and in Baptism in water (Acts 2:37-38), (Matt.
28:19).
- We believe that He Ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of God
our Father,
Ever making Intercession for us until He comes again (Acts 1:9), (ROM. 8:34),
(Heb. 7:25).
- We believe not only in the experience of Salvation, but also in the experience
Of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (John 3:16), (Matt.3:11).
- We believe that Jesus came to preach the gospel to the poor, to heal the
brokenhearted, to
Preach d eliverance to the captives , the recovering of sight to the blind, and to set
at liberty those That are bruised, as in (Luke 4:18). We believe that we are to do
the same as in (John 14:12)
- We believe that Jesus was sent to "...destroy the works of the D evil " (1John 3:8),
And that we are to, once again, do the same (Luke 10:19-20).
- We believe in carrying out the Great Commission of Winning the lost to Jesus
and in Descipling them to grow in the Lord (Matt 28:19-20) (Mark 16:15-16), and
that these Signs should Follow us As we do so, - Speaking in Tongues, Casting
out devils, Healing of the Sick (Mark 16:17-18).
- We believe in The Gifts of the Holy Spirit operating in the Body of Christ (1Cor.
12: 1-11)
- We believe In The Five Fold Ministry of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors
and Teachers for
The perfecting of the saints and the edifying of the Body (Eph. 4:11-12).
STATEMENT OF FAITH:
WON 4 CHRIST IS:
Independent---- Not part of any convention or national organization.
Fundamental---- Believe the entire Bible literally.
The Bible
The Scriptures of the Old and New Testament were given by inspiration of God
and are the only infallible, inerrant rule of faith (what we believe) and practice
(how we live). We believe it to be authoritative in every matter it addresses. It is
the eternal message of God to man. If you want to know Gods will for your life
read the Bible. If you want to walk in the spirit do the Bible.
Matthew 4:4 “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word
that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Psalms 119:89 “For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.”
2 n d Timothy 3:16-17 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
Isaiah 8:20 “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this
word, it is because there is no light in them.”
I Thessalonians 5:21”Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”
God
There is one living and true God, revealed in nature as the Creator, Preserver, and
Righteous Governor of the universe, and in Scripture we see that the Father, the
Son, and the Holy Spirit make up the Godhead, yet as one God infinitely wise and
good, who alone is worthy of our supreme love and worship.
Deuteronomy 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord.”
I John 5:17 “All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.”
John 4:24 “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in Spirit
and in truth.”
Psalms 83:18 “That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH,
art the most high over all the earth.”
Exodus 15:11 “Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like thee,
glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?
Mark 12:30 “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all
thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first
commandment.”
Matthew 28:19 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Hold Ghost.”
John 10:30 “ I and my Father are one.”
Ephesians 2:18 “For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the
Father.”
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh; in His divine nature truly God; in His
human nature, truly man; 100% both. The mediator between God and man, once
crucified, He is now risen and glorified and is our ever present Savior and Lord.
He is the virgin-born, sinless, eternally begotten Son of God.
John 1:1-4,14 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and
the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were
made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was
life; and the life was the light of men. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt
among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the
Father,) full of grace and truth.
Philippians 2:5-11 “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who,
being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made
himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made
in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself,
and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also
hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That
at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in
earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus
Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
The Holy Spirit
The Scriptures assign to the Holy Spirit all of the attributes of God. He is personal
and available for every believer. He is the Reprover, Comforter, Guide, Sanctifier,
teacher and the Seal of our Redemption. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy
Ghost can come at the moment of belief or acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord we
are given an example in Acts chapter 19 were Paul asked if they had received the
Holy Ghost since they believed. Paul calls them disciples and believers whom had
even been water baptized they laid hands on them and they received the Holy
Ghost. We do not believe this is a requirement for salvation.
THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: The Holy Spirit is manifested through a
variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity
of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the gospel. The Bible lists of these
gifts are not necessarily exhaustive, and the gifts may occur in various
combinations. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation
of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in harmony with the
Scriptures and should never be used in violation of biblical parameters.
(Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11, 12:4-8; Ephesians 4:16; II Timothy 1:5-16, 4:14;
I Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; I Peter 4:10)
John 16:7-14 “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go
away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I
will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin,
and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of
righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment,
because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you,
but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he
will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he
shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. He shall
glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you.”
John 14:16,17,26 “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another
Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the
world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know
him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. But the Comforter, which is the
Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things,
and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Matthew 3:16,17 “And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for
thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered him. And Jesus,
when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens
were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and
lighting upon him:
Ephesians 1:13,14 “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth,
the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed
with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the
redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”
Terms of Salvation
The conditions of Salvation are found in two inseparable graces, wrought in our
souls by the regenerating Spirit of God, those graces being repentance and faith.
Repentance being the sorrow for sin and its renunciation, and Faith being the
unreserved committal of one's self to Christ as Savior. Salvation is provided by the
grace of God and appropriated by faith, without any works performed by man,
Everyone has free will to choose.
Acts 3:19 “ Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted
out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;”
Romans 10:9,10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and
shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation.”
John 3:16,35 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The
Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.”
Luke 13:5 “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
Acts 16:31 “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be
saved, and thy house.”
Revelation 22:17 “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that
heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him
take the water of life freely.”
Romans 10:3 “For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to
establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the
righteousness of God.”
Romans 6:16 “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey,
his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience
unto righteousness?”
The works come through your love for the Savior your desire to be like him.
Not because you must but, because you want to.
James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your
own selves.
James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is
dead also.
Perseverance
All believers in Christ are saved by grace through faith and kept by the power of
God through faith. Salvation results when a man exercises faith in the Lord Jesus
Christ as his personal Savior. In doing so, the finished works of Christ settle his
account in heaven. Perseverance is the sustaining grace of God that assures the
true believer's continued act of faith in Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of God:”
I peter 1:3-5 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which
according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the
resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and
undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by
the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last
time.”
Hebrews 10:38,39 “Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my
soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto
perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.”
Jude 24 “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you
faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,”
Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a
good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:”
Heaven
The Scriptures declare that Heaven is a definite place reserved for the saved. It is
indescribably beautiful and the eternal reward that God has for all who have been
born again.
John 14:1-3 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in
me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told
you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will
come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
Acts 1:10,11 “And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up,
behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, ye men of
Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up
from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into
heaven.”
Revelation 21:1 “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven
and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.”
Hell
The Scriptures tell us that Hell is a terrible, eternal reality for all who die in their
sin. As Heaven is indescribable beauty, Hell is indescribable horror. The Bible
states the fire and torment of Hell to be an inescapable, eternal reality.
Matthew 25:41 “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from
me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.”
Revelation 19:20 “And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that
wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the
mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive
into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.”
Revelation 20:10 “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire
and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented
day and night for ever and ever.”
Luke 16:23,28 “ And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth
Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. For I have five brethren; that he may
testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.”
Luke 13:27,28 “But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart
from me, all ye workers of iniquity. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth,
when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the
kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.”
THE CHURCH: The church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through
the spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus’ great commission.
Every person who is born of the spirit is an integral part of the church as a
member of the body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our
Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:22, 2;19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17;11,20-23)
WATER BAPTISM: Believers are to be baptized in water as an outward sign of
their inward commitment to Jesus. Not a requirement of Salvation but an act of
obedience. (Matt, 28;19; Acts 10;48; Romans 6;3-7 )
(Buried in the likeness of his death raised in the likeness of his resurrection.)
COMMUNION: A unique time of communion in the presence of God when the
elements of bread and grape juice (the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ)
are taken in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. (Matthew 26:26-29;
Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12, 36-38; 10:47-48; I Corinthians 10:16,11:23-25)
HEALING OF THE SICK: Healing of the sick is illustrated in the life and ministry
of Jesus, and included in the commission of Jesus to His disciples. Healing and
the ability to walk in health are provided in the atonement, made available to
every believer. (Psalm 103:2-3; Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:16-17; Mark 16:17-18;
Acts 8:6-7; James 5:14-16; I Corinthians 12:9, 28; Romans 11:29; Peter 2:24)
We lay hands on the sick out of obedience to the Word. God alone is responsible
for the results, Ephesians 2:9 Not of us lest any should boast but only through
the name of the Lord Jesus. Acts 3:16 Christ in us the hope of glory. Colossians
1:27
